Spear water quality can change from one point to the next. There are many things that may effect the quality of your spear water. Some of the most common water quality issues are:
- TDS - total dissolved solids contained within the water.
- Salinity - concentrations of salt contained within the water.
- Iron content - iron may be present in your water. It may not be visible at first. It is most evident by brown staining.
- Hardness - water hardness is a common problem with groundwater in general.
- pH level - low pH levels or high acidity can cause major damage to pumps and metalic pipe work.
- Bacteria - bacteria can cause illness and will also effect plants in the grounds and garden.
- Colour and Odour - discolouration and odour are very common in groundwater - organic materials breakdown over time and contaminate groundwater. Odour becomes apparent when this water reaches the surface and mixes with oxygen.
There are systems available to treat all the above conditions, so it is no cause for alarm. If your water test returns negative results for any of the above mentioned symptoms, we will advise on the cause and the correct method of treatment.
